This Monday, Visualize Your Goals to Make Them Easier to Attain

Leading an exciting, busy life is a great way to stay on your toes and get a lot of things done. If you become overwhelmed, it may be difficult to focus on your most important goals. This Monday, set some time aside to imagine a less hectic future – one in which those goals are already achieved!

Visualizing your goals isn’t quite the same as simply making a wish you hope will come true. By mindfully focusing on a specific goal and how it will feel to achieve it, you can work out a road map for yourself on how to make it happen. Your most important goals deserve your utmost attention and concentration. But first, start with one of them, the one you want to achieve the most.

Identify your most desired achievement. It can be something creative, productive, or related to your health and fitness. It can also be something you want to achieve in either the short term or the long term. But give it your attention. Now that you’ve settled on one specific goal, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and picture yourself after achieving this goal.

Focus in on how it feels to accomplish your goal. Maybe you feel pride, or maybe you feel healthier. No matter what you feel, it will probably feel pretty good! Hold onto that feeling – that’s going to be your reward later.

Now, work backwards. How do you go about making this happen? What are the steps you’ll need to take? Most importantly, what is the first step you need to take? The best part of visualizing your goals is that you can leave your other responsibilities alone for now. For the sake of this exercise, pretend that your chosen goal is your sole responsibility. Now that you’ve given your goal your undivided attention, write down the steps you’ll need to take. Having a physical list will help you revisit not only the path to achievement but the great feeling of accomplishment that you felt at the beginning!

If you feel like you need to rein in your to-do list this Monday, take some time to pick one thing and figure out how to achieve it. Imagine the best version of yourself – then go get it!
